Harper's Humor Chapter 14 page 1

Jumpoline has come up many time (again) it's not trampoline - it's jumpoline!

Harper like to 'know' what is going to happen for the day. I had picked her up at Preschool and we were heading to DD's. I was explaining that Daddy was going to come pick her up at 3:00 and take her to speech, I was going to work until 5 and then go to the school to register her for school and then afterwords I would meet her and Daddy at Weight Watchers.

It was silent for a moment and she says.... "After what words Mommy?" I didn't get it right away and she says again... "After words ?? after what word Mommy".. OMGosh all I could do was laugh!

Been a while...

I can't believe it has been almost 6 weeks since I have posted anything... I know a lot has happened and it seems as though I look at the pictures in my camera to see what we have done.

• February 12, my brother-in-law Jim passed away. I didn't talk to Jim a lot, but I miss him very much. I can't imagine how much Sonja misses him. We have Memorial Service in Grand Island on the 20th. The whole family was able to come and we all stayed in Grand Island that evening so the kids got to swim and we all got to spend some much needed time together.
• February 22 Matt and I went to the Buddy Guy & BB King concert at the Mid-America center in Council Bluffs. We had a really good time. Harper got to spend the night with Uncle Mitch & Aunt Brandy. Uncle Mitch even got to take her to Preschool the next morning.
• March 6th was Brandy's 'aunt' shower at the Hampton Inn here in Lincoln. Hannah was able to come so she and Harper - along with Holden and Hayden got to play together.
• March 19th I registered Harper for Kindergarten.... OMGosh.. I can't believe my little girl is going to start school this fall. She will go to Belmont Elementary and we are going to get her into the before and after school program at the Rec center that is attached to the school
• March 20th was a busy day for us.... Harper had dance in the morning (recital in at the end of may). She had a preschool party at the Ager Playground from 3:00 - 4:30. I then took her to the Hughes for the evening so I could go to Brandy's bacherlotte party. Matt left for Mitch's bacherlor party that afternoon (it was in Omaha).
• That brings us to this weekend... Kind of quiet other the Dain's 5th birthday party tomorrow in Eagle. We are looking forward to is because we will get to see Dain and I hear that Tim, Susan AND Calvin will be there!!!!

Next week is Mitch and Brandy's wedding.. SHOULD be a good time. Harper is the flowergirl so I will have lot of pictures to post...

January 30th we had Harper's 5th Birthday party at Agers indoor playground. We invited her Preschool class and friends. 25 friends were able to make it, including Calvin, Dain, Madison, Calvin, Abby and Jadon! Harper's Humor Chapter 13 page 1

Yesterday I had decided to let Matt sleep in. Harper had just gotten out of bed and come into the living room. I asked her to go and close the bedroom door because we were going to let her Dad sleep in. I hear her talking and then she closes the door. I asked her what she was doing.... She said "I had to wake up Daddy so I could tell him we were going to let him sleep in"

5 years ago today..

5 years ago to about this very minute Harper Rae Johnson was born... She was born at 2:32 pm, 8lbs 5 oz and 21 inches long with a full head of dark hair! The time has gone by so incredibly fast. I remember my mom always saying that 'once you have kids, you will understand how fast time goes by'. I now understand what she meant. It truly does not seem like it was 5 years ago. Matt and I were lying in bed last night talking about things we remembering things.... The things I/we remember:

Going to lunch at Brewsky's the day (25th) we were to check in at the hospital to be induced. I of course had a BlackJack burger.

We had to be there at 5:30pm on the 25th and then we had to sit in the waiting room and wait and wait and wait.. They were so busy they were trying to get a room ready.

Matt being 'eaten' by the fold out bed in the labor and delivery room.

Telling the nurse 'I don't think I want an epidural' she nicely said I should sign the consent 'just in case'. Thank GOD for that.. I wanted that epidural as soon as I could.. LOL

Matt checking out all the instruments the nurses had put on the table - he was trying how he could get some of them home.. lol

The relief when Dr. Taylor finally said... OK, let's go in and get her out

Harper's Humor Chapter 12 page 1

Time has just been flying by since Christmas. I looked and hadn't blogged anything in almost a month and a lot has been going on. I thought I would get my feet wet with a Harper's Humor..There had been a lot the last month and I have been terrible at posting them.

Matt had told me when we got home that Grandpa Steve may come be coming over tonight and headed down to the garage. Harper was sitting at the table finishing her dinner when Matt came up and said that Grandpa was not coming over - that he had gotten into him book and was just going to stay in for the night. I said OK and then Harper's says "How did Grandpa get into his book Daddy?" We laughed and tried to explain it to her.....

Christmas...Blizzard...2009

Wow - What a memorable Christmas 2009 will be for most of my family and friends... I don't remember a time what I was not able to travel where I wanted on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. All family got to where they needed to be and everyone is safe and sound and warm on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Matt, Harper and I went to a movie Christmas Eve day and then headed home to open gifts. Mitch & Brandy headed to Syracuse, Steve was in Ashland with Deb and Stephanie was in Salina with Deron's family. We had all planned on heading to Chester Christmas Day, but with the weather it wasn't a good idea. Which is probably a good thing as Aunt Jayne called Christmas morning and they had no power! Sure glad I was in Lincoln with electricity!! LOL

Christmas Eve

Right before bed on Christmas Eve, we check the Norad Rador to see where Santa was. Matt explained to Harper that Santa was in South American and was on his way to the United States. She looked at it for a little while and then actually asked.... if she could go to bed.

Matt, Harper & I had a nice family Christmas Eve together this year. I had to work until noon and then headed home for the long weekend. We went to a move in the afternoon (Princesx & the Frog - which I highly recommend) & then home for the evening. We opened our gifts to one another and off to bed - Harper went.

Harper and I went to he Children's museum a couple of weeks and make a Gingerbread house. The house was already assembled and all we had to do was decorate it. They provided red, white and green frosting and as you can see ALL the candy you can think of...
