Welcome to the Johnson family blog. I have created this blog to journal the funny and unpredictable things that happen when you live with a 6 3/4 year old. Harper says and does the funniest things and I want to remember these things and share them with friends and family. Eventually sharing them with her. I have started to name a few of the blogs as "HARPER'S HUMOR" - these are specific blogs that have to with something funny she said or did......ENJOY

Up Early...
Matt is finally working some overtime & he left for work about 5am this morning.. So I also got up and thought I would grab some computer time. I was looking through some old pictures and thought I would post some of my favorite! I love all of her Halloween so far... but the Dalmatian (her first) was probably my favorite. I do have some pictures of her sitting on Grandpa & Grandma desk next to the dog kennel and I should probably post those.. We are trying to talk her into being a BUSH this year. Yes, a BUSH. I figured I could get her a dark green pair of sweats and sweatshirt and sew leaves (purchased at the dollar store of course) all over. Not sure she is going to agree. She really wants to be a LUMA. For those of you who play WII and have seen Super Mario Galaxy, you will understand. Although I'm not sure how I'm going to pull that one off if I can't talk her into being a BUSH....

Harper's Humor Chapter 10 page 1
This morning Harper was being kind of naughty - I asked her "Why are you being so naughty this morning?". She looked and me and said "Because God made me that way".

That darn door!
The other night Harper was going out into the garage and happened to catch her big toe on the door. She was wearing her new sandals and she 'got her toe'. There was some blood, a lot of tears, a long melt down but Matt was able to make it all better. He is so patient and caring when it comes to things like that... When she is hurt, she wants her Daddy! He is much better at that sort of thing that I am. We got it fixed up with Jayne's 'special band aides' and off they went to look at Hot Rods at Culvers (their Friday night date). The next night Matt was looking at her toes and there was part of the nail that needed to be trimmed... As you can see by the pictures she was not very happy about it.. but they got it handled and all is well!
Lunch with Susan & Calvin....
Harper and I met Calvin and Susan for lunch at Runza on Saturday. It had been a long time since we had gotten together... and I really miss spending time with them. Calvin is the cutest little guy and Harper just loves him and talks about him for hours after she sees him. It really made me appreciate how special good friends are how much you miss them. Got some really good pictures of Calvin and Harper....

Frist day of Preschool
Harper had her first day of Preschool this year. She is going to same place as last year (T/Th morning class). She was very excited and ready to go back. We walked in and acted and though she owned the place. She walked right up to Miss Nikki and started talking (of course) and telling her about her summer and all the things she had done...(fishing, trip to Kansas City, Frank). I got ready to leave and she gave me hug, told me she loved me and said "have a good day mommy, bye". Typical Harper, glad to be there, did really care that I was leaving! Makes me kind of sad, but as least she isn't crying and throwing a fit.... When I went to pick her up all the kids were on the playground. A lot of parents where standing there watching and taking pictures.. (by that time they were all standing in line getting ready to come in). I just went inside to wait for school to be over. Mrs. Nyfol was the first one up the stairs (with the kids following her) She said to me that Harper has really grown up over the summer and did a great job. She sat still and didn't interrupt and really helped the new/younger kids. She said that she had told Harper a number of time how proud she was of her. So all in all it was good day... Was there any doubt... LOL Once I got into the classroom to get her, she was talking to one of the other teachers and when I told her it was time to go and she said she didn't want to go.. Mrs Nyhof went and over and explained to her and they are so happy she is back, but she needed to leave so the kids in the afternoon class are coming soon.. She wasn't really happy but we left and by the time we got to the car she was OK and ready to go to DD's.
Star City Shores....
Last week we went to Star City Shores for Hartland Speech Therapy (where Harper goes to speech therapy) customer appreciation night. They had rented out SCS for all of their students & their families from 8:30 - 10:00. Matt went down the big slide, but Harper wouldn't go down. She had a good time, but was very tired at the end of the evening and fell asleep in the car only about 4 blocks from SCS.

Projectile....
OMGosh.. I have never seen anything like it before.. Except when I watch Americas Funniest Home Videos.... and then I usually laugh.. but never again.. i will never again laugh after what I saw come out of Haprer Wednesday night.....
Matt was at the Pub and Harper and I had just sat down for dinner... She said she wasn't hungry and wanted to go lay on the couch. I was cleaning up and I looked over and she was lying towards the back of the couch. I walked over to see if she was OK. She sat up and this deer in the headlight look and then..... out it came! OMGosh! I'm not going to go into details but it was terrible. I nearly did the same thing when I saw her do it. When it was all said and done she looked up an me and said... "What was that?". This is probably the 3rd time she has ever thrown up and the first 2 were nothing compared to this. I tried to explain the best I could and she just kind of looked at me. Once is bed it happened again a couple of times, but not as bad - thank goodness!
She is better today but we are going to keep her home again tomorrow. She hardly ate anything today and is still just kind of lethargic. She did have a slight fever when i got home from work (Matt and I spilt the day) but when she went to bed she wasn't hot at all. The Dr said to keep an eye on her and make she she drinks plenty of fluids.. I'll keep you posted!

Kansas City trip....
Last week - Kelsea, Cera & Harper made their annual trip to KC to stay with Stephanie... She been home almost a week and asked about everyday when she gets to go back and stay with Stephanie. Between Doug & Vicki and Aunt Judy they finally got to KC Wednesday evening... They spend Thursday at Worlds of Fun... Harper was tell enough (big surprise) that they didn't even go into the kid zone.. She loved the roller coaster that I think was called the spinning dragon, or at least I think it was a roller coaster. Friday they headed to Oceans of Fun and then Friday evening they watch ET at some park with one of those big blow up TV's.. Saturday they shopped and then had dinner at what Harper is calling the Cheese Factory (Aka Cheesecake Factory). I guess Harper was full of questions for Darin that he hardly had time to eat. Sunday morning was spent playing Cookin Mama on WII. We met Stephanie Sunday afternoon and got her back to Lincoln. She had a great time and I'm so thankful that she is able to go spend time with Stephanie and the girls.. Thanks Stephanie, Kelsea & Cera!
On a sad note though.. Frank the cat has disappeared! Harper left on Wednesday and Friday was the last time that Matt and I saw him.. One of the first things she asked when she in the car was how was Frank...Monday & Tuesday she went out onto the deck and cried because Frank wasn't there... this is why I don't really want animals.... and also for the fact that I have actually been thinking of getting her a Christmas... But don't tell Matt!! LOL

2009 Albion Parade....
Harper and I went to Albion last Sunday to watch to Parade.. When I went to wake her up at the crack of dawn... she stretches and said...(loudly)... I want to go to Albion to see my cousins.... We left for Albion pretty early so we could get the candy to Grandpa so he could throw it from his float (VFW). Almost the whole family was able to make it with the exception of Sonja, Jim & Matt. The kids were great and had a wonderful time playing together... Below are only a few of the pictures that I took....
